Israeli Ethiopians face persistent prejudice and discrimination due to widespread ignorance regarding their 2,500-year-old Jewish identity and culture. Countering this, Story of a Journey builds understanding via direct and open discussion between Israeli Ethiopians and other Israelis. It invites Israeli Ethiopians to share the Ethiopian Jewish story and their own personal journey with other Israelis in an informal setting. While this program receives funding from both the Ministry of Education and the Baron de Hirsch Foundation, its success has fueled increased demand, for which we seek funding.
